Moss Maritime has a special position in the maritime LNG industry, having developed the technology for Moss LNG carriers. The Moss spherical LNG tanks are renowned for their reliability and robustness, guaranteeing problem free operation, with no leaks and no sloshing problems. Since the first Moss LNG carrier was built in 1973, 145 Moss LNG carriers have been constructed at shipyards in Asia, Europe and USA, with cargo volumes ranging from 19.000m3 – 182.000 m3.
Based on the long-term experience with design of LNG carriers, and in response to the need for capture, transport and storage of CO2, Moss has developed technology for ship transport of liquefied CO2. The Moss LCO2 ship designs have been prepared for various cargo sizes and are developed both for medium & low pressure.
Based on the long-term experience with design of LNG carriers, and in response to the need for emission free fuels, Moss is developing technology for ship transport of liquefied H2. The Moss LH2 ship designs are being prepared both for small/medium volumes w/pressure vessel tanks and for large volumes w/atmospheric pressure tanks. Moss is partnering with ship operators and energy majors in the effort to develop ship designs that shall meet tomorrow’s need for transport of emission free fuel.
